COVID-19 UPDATE

Hi Joy Way Church, we pray you and your families are healthy and safe as we prepare to celebrate Christmas!

Given the surge of Covid-19 cases in our city and the few confirmed cases in our community , we are concerned with the safety of our members and visitors.
Therefore, for our Sunday gathering we will be meeting in person but we will be asking everyone who plans to attend to get rapid tested or at home rapid tested to make sure they are negative prior to attending the gathering by this friday, December 31st.
If you would like to join us in person we will be requiring our usual COVID-19 standards be met in order to keep everyone safe:
  1. You must not have had any COVID-19 symptoms in the past 10 days, those symptoms being:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
If you do have any of the symptoms, please stay home & keep us updated so we can assist you however possible. If you know how you were exposed to the virus please wait until it has been 5-7 days after the incident of exposure to get tested. Once you have tested negative & have no symptoms you may return to gathering with us in-person.

2. You must not have had exposure to someone who is positive with COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms in the last 10 days.

If you have been exposed the same applies to you as well, 5-7 days after being exposed get tested & when that test is negative you may return to gathering with us in-person.
As a church we are doing everything we can to be compliant to the CDC standards for quarantine, isolation & testing . To get more info on those standards that we look at while making decisions you can click here: CDC STANDARDS FOR EXPOSURE, QUARANTINE, ISOLATION & TESTING

Now that we’ve explained what we’re doing for COVID-19 Screening, here are the changes we are making in the gathering to ensure safety while attending:

  1. We are requiring registration for service by 10am on Sunday morning, this limits in-person to those who have taken careful consideration of the above requirements.
  2. We will be requiring masks be worn for the entirety of the service.
  3. We will be taking temperature at the door.
  4. We will have social distanced seating.
  5. We will have a hand sanitizer station set up near the door that we will ask you to use.
  6. We will be handing the communion elements to you to take as you exit the space.
You can join us either in-person or via zoom as we worship the Lord together. We hope that these very temporary restrictions will help to stop the spread, keep our loved ones safe, and allow us to meet again as we have been soon. We love you so much and we look forward to gathering this week!
